Gladys Fung
Gladys graduated with first class honours from her Bachelor of Optometry degree (UNSW) in 2008. After developing a keen interest in children’s vision, she returned to UNSW in 2012 to complete her Behavioural Optometry subjects in the Masters of Optometry course. She is currently studying her graduate certificate in Ocular Therapeutics to become a qualified ophthalmic medicines prescriber.
Gladys has worked alongside Chih Chi and Rosemary in the past and is excited to be part of the team again. She has devoted time in her career to work and provide eyecare for Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. She has also volunteered in Cambodia to provide eyecare to the underprivileged. She loves children and is passionate about helping children learn through maximising their visual function, efficiency and processing. Gladys enjoys taking care of families, adults, children and grandparents alike, providing thorough eye care but also understanding one’s visual needs and brainstorming effective solutions for their lifestyle. She is an enthusiastic contact lens prescriber, particularly with soft contact lenses and orthokeratology. She is also engaged in work to provide contact lens education to university students.
Gladys has 2 children whom she loves spending her time with outside of work. She enjoys making memories with her young family, going on adventures with them and being involved in their school and community life. She also loves music, outdoors and keeping active!
